Sakuyamon wip by Elita-01 Sakuyamon wip by Elita-01
So it's coming along, the helmet is about 90% complete. It came out just a bit too big I think and the shape is not exact but I like it a lot. I think I painted the eyes too far up the mask and if I've got time I'd like to redo them and place them lower. Sanding this kind of shape was a huge challenge and it isn't exactly symmetrical but I don't mind.

I Had to see more of this cosplay , You said its to big but after looking at what others have done i think its better bigger , way better cause others look to small. its brilliantly smooth and looks like a multi decade prop makers work. I would say this is the best free form work ive seen in ages!

Thank you so much! This costume was really a two man job given the time frame and even though we struggled with a lot of it (having to remake a bunch of things from scratch..ugh) it still came out better than I had hoped.

Yeah ive had more than my fair share of 2+ man costumes , the worst was my Velocirey which is 14 foot long and I lost my handlers during a Live Action beating that went into 45 minutes! it was so much fun thou! Except being harassed by a banana! , if it was not for cosplay one would think this conversation was insane. But your costume is top notch for sure and the proportions are great!

Those pink boards of insulation foam (the hard stuff) you find at hardware stores carved sanded and covered in a water/wood filler mixture. There's probably a better way to make it but I wasn't sure how

I'd assess the accuracy as "spiffy", and if it weren't for visibility, i could mistake it for a pretty awesome bike helmet.

It definitely was NOT supposed to come out looking like a helmet but that is the result of being rushed and having no time to improve it. It's not bad, I like it, but it's supposed to be more of a mask that covers most of the head than headgear. :(

And due to time constraints I definitely can not see out of it lol, I'll just slide it back on my head when not taking photos. Hoping I can improve this for Sakuracon in April without having to start all over, it was painful enought he first time!

Life has a way of constraining time, unfortunately. So many weeks between cons, so many afternoons free... so many years of life... Somehow, my most overworked aunt and my cousin both managed to get out to one. As a couple grey beings from Homestuck. One the ancestor of the other. Gran says she's back to 12 hr shifts... and animal tending at home. From the last round of photos, I now know what a shorn llama looks like. I have no idea how she sustains the energy her life demands. I'd be a crippled mass of comatose with half the workload.
